What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Cath Lab position at Central Peninsula General Hospital?
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs the primary functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of all patients in Cardiac Cath Lab Services during his or her shift. Is responsible for meeting the established standards of Intensive Nursing Practice, for managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment in the unit, and for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments.
Under general supervision, performs professional nursing, technical and administrative duties as they relate to the cardiac services department as assigned. Perform circulate, scrub and hemodynamic monitoring duties with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, interventional radiology procedures, holding area procedures, and Imaging Department nursing care support using clinical knowledge, technical skills and professional judgment in accordance with professional and departmental standards and protocols to include moderate sedation. Provides care, assessment prior, during and post-procedural care and instruction to patients. Prepares and maintains all pertinent information related to procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates in Nursing
- 2 years RN Experience in one of the following:
- Cath Lab RN
- Emergency Room
- Critical Care
- AK RN Licensure
- BLSP and ACLS
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
- Two (2) years or more years nursing experience in cardiac cath and interventional radiology;
- Experience to include patients undergoing moderate sedation.
