What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Clinical Educator position at Central Peninsula General Hospital?
POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Educator serves as a teacher, facilitator, and consultant, working collaboratively with nursing and hospital management to implement the educational goals and enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of nursing and other clinical staff. The Clinical Educator assesses needs, then plans, organizes, implements and evaluates education and training activities. The incumbent will be responsible for education and program coordination of the American Heart Association Program and/or other hospital education programs. These efforts are designed to assist all clinical personnel to acquire, maintain, or improve psycho-motor, cognitive and effective learning that will provide continuously improving patient care outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 5 years of Acute Care, School, or Public Health
- BLSP (CPR) from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment
- ACLS from the American Heart Association within one year of employment
- American Heart Association Course Instructor for ACLS, PALS, PEARS, & BLS within one year of employment
PREFERRED:
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- 5 years of Staff Development/Education Background experience
