What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Forensic Nurse Examiner position at Central Peninsula General Hospital?
POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Forensic Services (C.F.S.) Forensic Nurse Examiner (F.N.E.) is responsible for responding to abuse and/or assault victims or suspects by providing quality patient care and forensic evidence collection. The F.N.E. integrates activities with other hospital departments, law enforcement agencies, child protective services, victim advocacy, prosecution, community health care professionals and the public. The F.N.E. knows the consequences of nursing actions and the legalities involved.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates Science in Nursing
- Active AK State Licensure
- BLSP, ACLS & PALS
PREFERRED:
- Two years Nursing- Acute Care
- Two years Nursing- Med/surg, Emergency, School or Public Health
- Two years of active nursing practice with demonstrated proficiency in forensic care nursing knowledge and skills.
