Urology is a medical and surgical specialty that focuses on the urinary tract for both men and women. The clinic addresses a wide range of conditions, including urinary tract infections, kidney stones, urologic cancers, erectile dysfunction, incontinence, voiding issues, prostate disorders, and reproductive procedures such as vasectomies. POSTION SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant Apprentice performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of physician and/or a clinical staff member. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, administering medications or treatments as directed by physician, and other duties assigned. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, registering patients, verifying existing demographic information, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes, as well as other clerical duties.
