What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN, Infection Control Practitioner position at Central Peninsula Hospital?
POSITION SUMMARY: The Infection Control Practitioner is responsible for the promotion and application of infection control measures to prevent and/or control infections among patients and employees. The incumbent facilitates compliance with requirements of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital Organization (JC), Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Department of Public Health.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent infection control/epidemiology educational course(s).
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska.
- Demonstrated knowledge of techniques for data collection, good analysis and statistical collation skills and good written, interpersonal, time management and presentation skills.
PREFERRED:
- EPIC experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with infection control methods with computer background, certification in Infection Prevention and Control and previous experience in acute care infection control and employee health program.
