POSITION SUMMARY: The Staff Development Director is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating educational programs across the organization. This role collaborates with department directors, managers, physicians, and senior leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, promote performance excellence, and foster a culture of continuous learning. The director oversees staff development initiatives, including nurse residency programs, Medical Assistant and Certified Nursing Assistant training, and other workforce development programs that support employee growth. Additionally, this position plays a key role in advancing staff and patient safety, driving culture change, and supporting continuous process improvement through effective communication, coaching, and supervision of staff development personnel.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Candidates must be actively enrolled in a Master's degree program if they do not already hold one.
- 5 years of experience in Acute Care Nursing
- State of Alaska RN License
- Certified BLSP Instructor, ACLS Instructor & PALS Instructor through the American Heart Association are required within 6 months of hire.
- Must have and maintain full knowledge of all educational regulatory requirements.
