Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. This is currently a part-time role with the potential to grow to a full time position quickly. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and treating a variety of patients with various diagnoses, developing individualized care plans, and implementing effective treatment strategies to enhance their mobility, pain levels, and overall physical function. This role is in an orthopedic and sports medicine environment that empowers patients to achieve an active lifestyle.
Responsibilities
- Carry out and progress tailored care plans based on individual patient assessments and goals with the guidance of the physical therapist.
- Implement treatments including education, exercise, manual therapy, and various modalities specific to the patients' preferences and needs.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with physical therapist other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care for patients in both clinic and home health settings.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments and progress notes in compliance with medical standards.
Skills
- Communication and relationship building: you must be able to connect with each patient, provide sufficient education, and use appropriate language that leaves each patient feeling empowered.
- Knowledge necessary to progress high quality plans of care to provide the framework for positive patient outcomes.
- Strong understanding of exercise prescription for individuals across the lifespan including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Manual therapy: basic knowledge of joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, etc. to supplement an appropriate exercise prescription.
- Documentation: Ability to provide point-of-service (or otherwise efficient) documentation, meet appropriate insurance-related documentation guidelines, and be able to learn and utilize electronic documentation system.
- Basic social media skills encouraged to help maintain a positive and active social media presence as a clinic.
- Bonus: Wellness-related knowledge and personal training experience encouraged.
