General Function
The Creative Media Manager is a dynamic and visionary designer responsible for the strategic development and execution of visually compelling designs across all media platforms—including digital, email, social media, print, etc. This role plays a critical part in enhancing the college’s brand identity and storytelling through innovative design solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design & Branding: Conceptualize and create visually striking collateral materials that effectively promote the college across print and digital platforms, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines. Serve as a lead reviewer of content to ensure it aligns with brand guidelines.
- Creative Leadership: Share creative and strategic design ideas to inspire team, fostering an environment of innovation and excellence.
- Cross-Platform Media Management: Develop and oversee multimedia content strategies that engage diverse audiences across email marketing, social media, websites, and print publications.
- Collaboration & Consultation: Partner with internal stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and administration, to understand their marketing needs and deliver impactful visual solutions. Works closely with freelance designers or agencies during campaigns or other work.
- Quality Control: Maintain high design standards, ensuring all marketing materials align with the college’s visual identity and communication goals.
- Trend & Technology Awareness: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging design tools, and digital media innovations to continuously elevate the college’s creative output.
- Serves on assigned committees.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional design experience, preferably in a higher education, marketing, or agency setting.
Additional Information
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and UX/UI for both print and digital applications.
- Experience with project management and overseeing creative projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and guide design staff.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines. Knowledge of emerging design trends, multimedia production, and digital marketing best practices.
- In-office working environment during typical operating hours for college. Some minor lifting of equipment. Some light walking between college buildings.
