General Function
The STEM Prep Instructor will provide instruction in academic enrichment courses designed for students that are interested in pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Emphasis is placed on familiarizing learners with current practices in STEM fields, facilitating hands-on learning experiences and providing guidance on relevant college transfer or career options.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Teaches project-based courses in needed area of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math
2. Assist students in STEM based projects and presentation preparation
3. Works with other instructors and Peer Mentors to collaborate on best practices.
4. Keeps accurate records of individual and group interactions with program participants.
5. Maintains satisfactory academic progress.
6. Meets regularly with supervisor to provide update on students.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree from a regionally accredited institution in a STEM field or demonstrated expertise in the specified field
