What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Theater Usher - (Performing Arts) position at Central Piedmont Community College?
General Function
The Theater usher will serve as a customer service representative of CPCC and Performance Facilities by presenting themselves with enthusiasm and courtesy to monitor the safety and experience of guests, staff, and patrons in assigned areas of multiple venues.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collects admission tickets and passes from patrons and pass out programs at performances
- Examines tickets or passes to verify authenticity, using criteria such as color and date issued
- Guides patrons to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency
- Maintains order and ensure adherence to safety rules
- Provides assistance with patrons' special needs, such as finding appropriate accommodations for those with wheelchairs
- Assists in searching for lost articles and helping patrons locate such facilities as rest rooms and other buildings on campus
- Remains at assigned post and help to ensure that no food or beverage is allowed in the theatres/space
- Assists the House Manager and housekeeping in removing large pieces of trash after each event/performance.
- Responsibilities may include patrolling facilities or performing static posts
- Specific Assignments will vary within our venues.
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Requirements:
One year of experience working in the theatrical arts in a customer service related area
