What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Terminal position at Central Plains Cement?
The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure all site activities are performed in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to safety regulations and established operational procedures.
- Ensure all personnel safety and operational training is timely and appropriate.
- Immediately report and, if necessary, investigate all safety related incidents.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to terminal truck-loading and rail unloading efficiencies and productivity. This must include sound and accurate communication for all activities related to inventory and the delivery of cement via trucks. A professional decorum must be always displayed.
- Directly supervise all hourly personnel and contracted labor on site.
- Participate in the hiring, training, discipline, etc. of personnel related to the terminal operation.
- Devote full energy to communicate in a timely and accurate fashion with management, personnel, and service providers/contractors.
- Exhibit basic maintenance and troubleshooting abilities.
- Devise and implement preventative maintenance practices with Job Safety Analyses as appropriate. Strive to make equipment repairs in a timely manner.
- Organization and processing of paperwork, computer tracking, scheduling, etc. as needed to load cement from the silo to customer trucks to meet customer needs. Ensure accurate Bills of Lading are always maintained.
- Ensure environmental compliance and best practices are always adhered to. Complete all environmental compliance records accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Participate in the annual budgeting process and complete monthly summaries and reporting as needed.
- Participate in the development of and execution of any capital improvements to the site.
- Daily contact with the Central Plains Cement Company Logistics Group to provide inventory levels.
- Work with the Logistics Manager to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
- Work with the Accounting Department to maintain accurate Bills of Lading and proper documentation.
- Work with the Safety Manager to provide support and an understanding of terminal safety issues.
- Work with the Environmental Manager as needed to maintain compliance with all environmental regulations and permits
Qualifications
- Proven communication, interpersonal skills, electronic communication, and solid computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
- Experience in an industrial environment. Construction, paving, ready mix concrete, and/or cement related industries a strong plus.
- Demonstrated experience in customer service and industry equipment.
- College Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Good troubleshooting skills mechanically and/or electrically.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Safety minded individual.
- Ability to maintain a professional image with regulators and public.
