Central Plumbing, Heating, Excavation is a 100% employee owned, commercial contractor for plumbing, HVAC, and excavation. For 76 years we've offer solutions for mechanical design, plumbing, piping systems, fabrication, HVAC, and excavation in Montana. Central is growing and we are looking for a Laborer / Pipelayer to join our highly valued and skilled civil construction team
JOB OBJECTIVE
This is an entry level position in which you will perform the initial groundwork necessary for construction such as:
- Grading trenches
- Positioning pipe
- Remove, fill, or compact earth
- Construction site prep-work
- Loading and unloading construction materials
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to learn grade rod reading and calculation of slopes
- Ability to operate basic hand tools, small power tools and other construction related equipment
- Troubleshooting / problem solving skills
- Able to reason using acquired skills and able to recognize when to ask for help
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This work is physically demanding
- Requires the ability to work in all weather
- Requires the ability to perform tasks on all areas and aspects of a construction project
- Requires the ability to climb ladders for heights of up to 20 feet, and crawl for distances of 50 feet
- Requires the ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 100 lbs
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Must be able to enter a U.S. military facility (background check)
- Ability to perform physical labor on construction sites
- Understand the value of safety
