Job Description
The Employee Accommodations Consultant assist with the administration of the Bank's accommodation process and policies to ensure compliance with the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA), and all other federal and state laws, which involves extensive collaboration with legal, the leave administration team and third party administrator.
Job Duties:
- Effectively communicate with colleagues regarding their needs for accommodations, intermittent leaves, non-FMLA leaves of absence and personal leaves. Ensure that colleagues are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for an accommodation.
- Coordinate, conduct and document interactive process discussions to determine the most appropriate course of action in terms of restrictions and accommodations to ensure compliance with applicable laws including ADA, which includes collaboration with legal, leave administration and Huntington's third party leave vendor.
- Maintain knowledge of all applicable leave of absence and accommodation laws and regulations including federal FMLA, ADA, state and local laws.
- Counsel managers and colleagues to foster communication and maintain effective working relationships and a positive work environment.
- Ensure detailed and timely documentation of all employee relation matters using Huntington's case management system.
- Apply an understanding and perform all work in compliance with relevant company policies as well as pertinent federal, state and local laws.
- Function in a high-volume environment where effective prioritization is crucial to success.
- Other duties as projects as requested.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
- Minimum of 1 - 3 years of HR experience including knowledge related to ADA and FMLA.
- Experience supporting a large client base preferred.
