General Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the site principal, the Instructional Resource Specialist (IRS) focuses on student achievement for core subject areas (ELA and Math) as indicated the district and site’s Educational Plans for Student Success (EPSS/90 Day Plan). The IRS will also assist in the development of best instructional practices as outlined by the district. The IRS will collaborate with educators regarding instructional practices that will support student academic success based on identified needs. Instructional support will be provided through professional development, collaboration and data support.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education with proven abilities in ELA and math preferred.
- Valid Level II New Mexico teaching license.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, squatting, and kneeling.
Performance Responsibilities:
In addition to other duties assigned by the principal, the IRS shall:
- Demonstrate state teacher competencies and indicators specific to level of licensure;
- Model effective instructional strategies.
- Observe and coach teachers in the implementation of effective instructional practices.
- Provide professional staff development as assigned.
- Site test coordinator for district and state assessments (MAPS, PARCC, WIDA, ACCESS, etc.)
- Gather data; interpret data for teachers and administration for student instruction.
- Support data driven instruction with PLC teams.
- Computer skills to support online assessments, instructional resources and programs.
- Serve as a member of the school’s Student Assistance Team, Leadership Team.
- Serve on school and district level committees as required.
- Facilitate communication with the Leadership Team, school staff and community regarding academic issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
