Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and proficiency in financial software to maintain efficient operations within the department.
Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments while adhering to company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and reconcile discrepancies.
- Utilize financial software for data entry and reporting.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment inquiries and discrepancies.
- Support month-end closing activities by preparing accounts payable reports and reconciliations.
- Stay updated on financial regulations and best practices in public accounting.
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with benefits administration is preferred but not required.
- Experience in public accounting is considered an asset.
