Position Title : Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst Department : Accounting Reports To : Chief Financial Officer Ability to Commute : Norman, OK 73069 (Required) Work Location : In person Overview : The FP&A Analyst for a Home Health Agency plays a critical role in supporting the organizations financial health and operational efficiency.
This position involves analyzing financial and operational data to drive strategic decisions, optimize resources, and ensure regulatory compliance.
The FP&A Analyst will work closely with leadership to provide insights into performance trends, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities : Financial Planning and Forecasting : Develop and maintain financial models tailored to the unique operational structure of a home health agency, including patient volume, payer mix, and reimbursement rates.
Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections aligned with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance requirements.
Work with clinical and operational teams to align financial goals with service delivery objectives.
Financial Analysis and Reporting : Analyze monthly financial performance, including revenue, cost-per-visit, labor utilization, and profit margins.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as patient census, visit productivity, and payer reimbursement rates.
Provide detailed variance analyses between actual results and forecasts / budgets, identifying risks and opportunities.
Operational Support : Partner with operations to assess staffing models, overtime usage, and travel costs for field clinicians.
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality care standards.
Evaluate the financial impact of regulatory changes, reimbursement rate adjustments, and new service lines.
Strategic Decision Support : Conduct scenario planning and what-if analyses for expansion into new markets, service lines, or partnerships.Provide financial insights to guide investment in technology, staffing, or patient care programs.Support leadership with ad-hoc analyses and data-driven recommendations for strategic initiatives.
Qualifications : Education : Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
MBA or healthcare-related certification (e.g., CHFP, CPA) is a plus.
Experience : 2-5 years of experience in FP&A, preferably within a healthcare or home health agency setting.Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer reimbursement structures.
Skills : Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills.Experience with healthcare financial systems (e.g., Homecare Homebase, Trella Health, or Sage Intacct).Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
