What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agronomy Internship position at Central Region Cooperative?
Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist agronomy sales staff with weed and pest scouting
- Operate forklift and other equipment as qualified
- Attend plot days, sales and/or team meetings
- Visit producers with sales staff
- Assist in the collection of field plot data
- Monitor and maintain seed and chemical warehouse inventory
- Learn about agronomy products and services offered by Central Region Cooperative
- Represent yourself and the cooperative professionally at all times in action and appearance
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with teams
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma
- Enrolled in a two or four year college program
- Valid driver’s license
- Availability to work extended hours during peak seasons
- Computer and data entry skills
- Must be able to follow directions and effectively communicate with others
- Agriculture background preferred but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift 75lbs., climb ladders and/or rail cars, stairs, and bins
- May also be required to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to work near fertilizer dust and during inclement weather
- Must be able to perform all physical requirements of the position
