Job Summary
Support the technology needs of the agency and assigned school(s) by providing technical assistance to internal and external clients, maintaining and repairing equipment, and supporting conference room operations. Represent and advance the agency's mission and operations in a constructive and growth-oriented manner.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and/or a minimum of two years of experience in computer technology support, including hardware repair (computers, video, or audiovisual equipment) and technical support.
- Current Apple, HP, and Dell warranty certifications or willingness to obtain them within one year of employment.
- CompTIA A Certification or willingness to obtain within one year of employment.
- Experience with Google Admin and multiple computer and mobile device operating systems.
- Experience with mobile device management and computer imaging.
- Hold and maintain a valid Iowa driver’s license.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Performance Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical assistance at assigned school(s), addressing and resolving IT issues with professionalism and a focus on building trust.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Set up and configure devices, computer labs, and technology equipment to meet the needs of the school(s).
- Provide effective management and support of Google accounts, including user access, optimizing configurations, and resolving technical issues to maintain seamless operations.
- Assist in maintaining and improving the networking infrastructure at assigned school(s), ensuring reliability and performance.
- Contribute to the development of short and long-term IT goals for assigned school(s).
- Advise and implement necessary cybersecurity best practices to protect school systems and data from threats.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all services provided through the Help Desk system to ensure transparency and efficiency.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with Central Rivers AEA staff and school leaders, acting as a liaison to strengthen connections and streamline communication.
- Perform other IT-related tasks as assigned to support the success of the assigned school(s).
Equipment Repair
Performance Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain or repair supported types of computers (Macintosh/PC/Dell), video, audio visual, and agency telecommunications equipment.
- Provide consulting assistance to clients as assigned such as: workshops pertaining to equipment maintenance and repair, purchasing recommendations, and general hardware/software advice.
- Installation and maintenance of Agency-purchased computer hardware/software.
- Daily maintenance and organization of equipment repair area.
- Maintain a filing system established to organize manuals, service agreements, catalogs, and other information regarding information technology.
- Track work orders, compile job cost, and maintain accurate equipment repair records for accounting purposes
- Communicate with clients regarding the status of equipment repair.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Help Desk
Performance Responsibilities
- Utilize the Help Desk portal for creating and resolving tickets.
- Support the Agency’s usage of Zoom, including: Zoom usage assistance, Zoom phones, and Zoom scheduling.
- Support the Agency’s conference center events: set-up and tear-down, tech support for sessions, connection of various peripherals needed for each session.
- General daily support of the technology, troubleshooting of first-line issues, installation of new software, and maintenance of installed software to an Agency-adopted standard.
- Support of laptop computer setup, maintenance, installation of new software, and maintenance of installed software.
- Support the general conference facilities including: working closely with scheduling and maintenance personnel to meet the needs of internal and external clients using the conference facilities, supporting any Agency-adopted scheduling software, and providing a single point of support for troubleshooting immediate problems with sound, audio-visual, video, digital projection, and telecommunications.
- Troubleshoot first-line issues for AEA schools and Youth Shelter/Detention Programs.
- Support Agency Leadership during planning and implementation phases for events hosted by the Agency.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
