- Annual Salary Range for 2025-26 School Year (180 days): $39,880 - $65,000 (Dependent upon years of experience and education)

- A new teacher induction academy will be held for all new licensed staff on Thursday, July 31 and Friday, August 1.
- Valid and appropriate Illinois licensure.
- Physical Education and Middle School Health endorsement required.
- Complete required professional development to retain certification.
- Successful completion of fingerprint based criminal background check (IL State Police and FBI), sex offender and violent youth offender screening, and employment physical.

Duties And Responsibilities (pe)
- Develops and administers Physical Education classes consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Teaches knowledge of, and develops skills and abilities in, physical fitness, rhythm and dance, coordination and agility, exercise, and sports using the Illinois Learning Standards for Physical Development and Health.
- Develops students' concepts in leadership, teamwork, responsibility and social skills; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and appropriate feedback regarding student progress, expectations, and goals.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student growth and progress in physical educational activities, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs.
- Knowledge of physiology, health and nutrition, biology and biological functions, anatomy, hygiene, exercise, and the best ways to promote physical and mental well-being.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
- Assists in coordinating extracurricular activities, including student performances, assemblies, and athletic events.
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within physical education and grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
- Selects and requisitions appropriate instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
- Inspects equipment and field areas used to ensure they are in good and safe working order.
- Utilizes current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Utilizes knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Applies knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students
- Obtains knowledge of computer network system and software applications as needed.
