TITLE : Homebound Tutor (5th Grade Student)
Rate : $27 / hr. - 5 hours / week
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Valid and appropriate Illinois licensure - Professional Educator License.
- Successful completion of fingerprint based criminal background check (IL State Police and FBI), sex offender and violent youth offender screening, and employment physical.
REPORTS TO : Principal / Asst. Principal
JOB GOAL : Under limited supervision, provides high-quality, standards-based instruction in a homebound setting for a student qualifying for services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Addresses specific educational needs of an individual student by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment and providing feedback to parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.In collaboration with the student's teacher(s), selects appropriate instructional materials and media to achieve the goals and objectives specified for the student.In collaboration with the student's teacher(s), s trives to maximize the educational achievement of the student.Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media which are appropriate to the achievement the student.In collaboration with the student's teacher(s), a ssesses on an ongoing basis student progress toward the acquisition of goals and objectives.Maintains accurate and complete records as required by district policy and administrative regulations.Utilizes current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal / assistant principal and district office administrators as designated by the superintendent.Adheres to a professional code of ethics which includes confidentiality of school related matters and loyalty to the school district.Note : The above description is illustrative of most tasks and responsibilities.
