Purpose Statement:
The Assistant Principal/Athletic Director will be a transformational and an instructional leader. This leader would focus on quality in regards to teaching, learning, equity, curriculum, school culture, student success, student athletics and activities, and parent engagement. Provides leadership and oversees the athletic programs and extracurricular activities for the high school.
The Assistant Principal/Athletic Director is directly responsible for the supervision of the entire school athletic program including all coaches, all student fees and clearance, all equipment inventory, ordering and management; fiscal management for all teams and district fees/gate receipts; after school/evenings for all home contests (Fall, Winter, Spring), Liaison to athletic league.
The job of Assistant Principal is done for the purpose/s of supporting the building Principal in ensuring academic success of students, performing school site activities as may be delegated by Principal; and representing the school within district and community. Ensure that student learning through the lens of equity and cultural relevance drives all decisions and aligns with the vision of the District.

Essential Duties/Functions
The ability to create and sustain a school culture that nurtures high expectations, a commitment to personal and academic excellence, and to foster growth mindset.
- Provides coordination and oversight of athletic programs and extra-curricular activities, including the hiring, training, and supervision of coaches; budgeting; scheduling; and transportation.
- Works with students, staff, and parents to continuously improve all aspects of the learning environment.
- Remains current regarding trends and best practices related to education and school management, and shares this knowledge with staff.
- Works with staff to ensure that all students are known, nurtured, and included in the school community.
- Participates in the recruiting, screening, hiring, assigning and training of school staff.
- Assumes responsibility for the conduct of students at extra-curricular events.
- Supports the work of the district’s Title IX Coordinator.
- Ensures OSAA standards and procedures are followed.
- Provides supervision for athletic and extra-curricular events.
- Assume responsibility for the safety of all facets of the athletic program, coordinating with Risk Management and Athletic Trainers as needed.
- Takes the lead in resolving problems, issues, and concerns that may arise within the athletic program or extra-curricular activities.
- Works with the district facilities department in a collaborative way to address the needs of the district athletic program.

- Composes a wide variety of materials (e.g. quantity reports, student activities, correspondence, audits, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying
- Evaluates assigned personnel (e.g. teachers, support sta?) for the purpose of ensuring that standards are achieved and performance is maximized.
- Facilitates communication between personnel, students and/or parents for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving con?icts.
- Facilitates meetings, processes, etc. for the purpose of meeting curriculum guidelines and/or ensuring that state mandates are achieved.
- Intervenes in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students for the purpose of assisting students in modifying such behavior and developing successful interpersonal Manages a variety of school administrative functions (e.g. student disciplinary policy, school schedule, assigned personnel, etc.) for the purpose of enforcing school, district and state policy and maintaining safety and e?ciency of school operations.
- Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Presents information (e.g. curriculum, budget overviews, accounting processes, distribution formulas, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, gaining feedback and ensuring adherence to established internal

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel, parents, students and the public; work collaboratively as a team member.

Job Requirements: Minimum Quali?cations

The following are minimum requirements:
- Current and Appropriate Oregon Administrative License.
- Record of education positions with increasing responsibility.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of high school level coaching experience
- Knowledge of OSAA rules and regulations and Title IX requirements.
- Experience with curriculum development, staff development for best instructional practice, and use of student assessment data to drive instructional decisions and school improvement.
- Clear understanding of federal and state programs and education requirements such as: graduation requirements, special education, and CTE.
- Experience presenting to adults.
The following are preferred requirements:
- High school teaching experience.
- 3 years of Head coaching experience.
