Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Training: Teach mandatory security guard courses, in-service training, and other required specialized courses.
- Create and Maintain Course Materials: Develop and maintain training materials, presentations, handouts, and written examinations by NYS DCJS standards.
- Assess Student Performance: Evaluate student performance through practical exercises, written exams, and feedback to ensure they meet NYS certification requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure all training programs meet or exceed the certification guidelines set by NYS DCJS, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of any changes to state regulations or policies.

Ensure Safety and Security: Promote and maintain a safe learning environment for all students, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed.
- Certification: Must be an active and certified NYS Security Guard Instructor through the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS).
- Experience: Previous experience working as a security guard, along with a proven record of teaching or instructing in security-related fields, is preferred.
- Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to present material clearly and effectively.
- Knowledge of security procedures and protocols.
- Organizational and time-management skills.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Additional education in criminal justice, security management, or a related field may be preferred.
