The Director of Information Systems (IS) is responsible for overseeing the technological infrastructure of an organization, ensuring the seamless integration and functioning of information systems. This role involves managing the IS team, developing and implementing IT policies, and ensuring the security and efficiency of data and IT operations. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a corporate-wide information security management program to ensure that information assets are adequately protected. A key element of this role is working with executive management to determine acceptable levels of risk for the organization.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement IT strategies and initiatives to support organizational goals.
- Oversee the maintenance and improvement of IT infrastructure, including software, hardware, and network systems.
- Manage IS team members, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the organization's data by implementing appropriate security measures and policies.
- Collaborate with departments to understand their technology needs and develop solutions.
- Plan and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Monitor and analyze IT performance metrics to ensure optimal operation.
- Negotiate with vendors for IT-related products and services.
- Stay updated with the latest technology trends and advancements.
- Lead IT-related projects from initiation to completion.
- Ensure user support and troubleshooting for technology issues

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field .
- Proven experience as an IS Director or similar role.
- Seven years of experience in risk management, information security, or programming.
- Five years’ experience developing in programming languages, such as C#, C , .NET, JavaScript, Shell Script, or Java
- Experience managing $3M financial forecasting and budget management.
Preferred
- MBA
- Relevant certifications such as CISA, CISM, or CISSP, or similar experience.
TRAVEL
Travel is required as needed throughout the year. Travel can include conferences, site visits, supplier/vendor trips and leadership offsites.
