Director of Logistics
About the Job:
This critical role oversees the daily operations of our company fleet, ensuring seamless inbound, outbound, and customer delivery logistics. The successful candidate will monitor key performance indicators, set strategic directions for the asset-based fleet, and drive customer satisfaction.
Main Responsibilities:
- Establish a clear vision and business plan for the logistics group.
- Design and develop our overall supply chain, incorporating logistics, staging, and trucking asset utilization.
- Optimize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to meet business objectives and align with company goals.
- Manage and maintain all fleet operations, including trucks, equipment, vehicles, and forklifts.
- Negotiate and manage vendor relationships for equipment and tool leases and purchases.
- Promote collaboration between Logistics and the leadership team to enhance business operations and serve customer needs.
- Lead, develop, and motivate the Logistics team, comprising managers, supervisors, coordinators, and drivers.
- Implement cost-saving measures and operational efficiencies within Logistics, in partnership with Finance.
- Educate and train the logistics network on regulatory compliance and best practices.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Operations Management, plus eight years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven track record of leadership and team management.
- Exceptional knowledge of logistics techniques, process improvement methodologies, and project management principles.
- Manufactured-to-Order supply chain experience.
- Asset-based fleet management expertise.
- Strategic planning skills.
