CLEVELAND AREA HOSPITAL is an independent, self-managed Critical Access Hospital half an hour west of Tulsa, Oklahoma. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Clinic Provider, the Medical Assistant assists the physician and advanced practice provider with patient care. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The hours for this position are Tuesday 10:00am-2:00pm and Wednesday-Friday 7:00am-7:00pm.
PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions
Adheres to Organization’s Policies and Procedures
Provides exceptional customer service and ensures access to appropriate services as expeditiously as possible
Sets up rooms
May take patient into room and perform and document initial patient interview
Assists physician/advanced practice provider with patient care
Sets up rooms
Performs office tests as ordered
Draws blood
Gives injections and other medications (if ordered by a physician)
Performs clerical duties as needed
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistance Program Minimum is required. However, years of job-related experience in medical clinic; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be accepted in lieu of Medical Assistance Program. This decision will be made by the Practice Manager and the HR Department.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
