What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forensic Assistant position at Central Texas Autopsy, PLLC?
Immediate opening for a Forensic Assistant in a private medical office. Desired applicant must be an energetic, highly motivated individual willing to work in all aspects of death investigation. Prior experience in a medical or medically related field such as nursing is desirable but not necessarily required. Duties include assisting with performance of autopsies, taking investigative reports, cleaning of autopsy room and main facility, stocking of supplies, receiving and releasing of bodies, collection and submission of toxicology specimens for analysis, fingerprinting, and other duties. Applicant must be able to turn and move bodies some of which are in excess of 300 pounds. The position is labor intensive and can be fast-paced. Being on call is a requirement of the position and is divided amongst other assistants but includes weekends, weekdays after 5 PM, and holidays. Applicant must live within a 40-minute commute of Lockhart, TX. Position includes some benefits. Applicant must have good computer skills and be fluent in Microsoft Word. Pre-employment physical and background check are required.
