Job Title: Executive Director

Central Texas Children's Center is a nonprofit early childhood center dedicated to serving children with special needs and their siblings. Position Summary
The Executive Director (ED) is the key leader of Central Texas Children's Center and is responsible for overseeing the overall administration, financial management, and strategic direction of the organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will ensure the fulfillment of our mission and goals while fostering a positive and inclusive culture for staff, children, and families. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, grant writing skills, and a deep commitment to early childhood education and special needs advocacy.
Key Responsibilities, Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to advance the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability.
- Serve as the primary advocate and spokesperson for the organization, fostering strong relationships with families, donors, community partners, and other stakeholders.
- Provide visionary leadership to ensure high-quality programming and services.
- Lead and mentor staff, creating a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in early childhood education and nonprofit management.
Financial Management & Fundraising
- Oversee the organization’s budget, ensuring financial stability and accountability.
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies, including grant writing, donor engagement, and special events.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support and expand programs.
- Report regularly to the Board of Directors on financial health, funding needs, and strategic opportunities.
Operational Oversight
- In collaboration with the Program Director, oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and program effectiveness.
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care and education for children.
- Manage and support a team of dedicated professionals, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
- Ensure program evaluation and continuous improvement through data collection and assessment.
Board Relations & Governance
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to set organizational goals and priorities.
- Provide transparent and timely reports to the Board on program impact, financial status, and key initiatives.
- Support board development, including recruitment and engagement of new members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit, early childhood, or disability services setting.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, grant writing, and fundraising experience.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with children with special needs and their families is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead a team and foster a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Passion for early childhood education and advocacy for children with special needs.
Compensation & Benefits
