To apply for the position, please click the Apply for this Job link / button.Posting Information This form is the official Personnel Requisition form used to notify Employment Services of job vacancies and initiate appropriate job advertisements.Position Information Position Title : Professor Mental HealthFLSA : ExemptFull Time / Part Time : Full TimeDepartment : Central CampusLocation : Central CampusSalary : per Faculty Pay ScaleHours : Summary of Position This position teaches courses in one or more of the following degree / certificate programs : Chemical Dependency Specialization, At-Risk Youth Specialization, Social Work Specialization, or Community Health Worker.Minimum Required Education For the Chemical Dependency and At-Risk Youth Specialization courses : Master’s degree from an accredited university in a social sciences field (psychology, mental health, sociology, social work, substance abuse, criminal justice) with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching field. For the Social Work Courses : Master’s degree in Social Work.Minimum Required Experience For the Chemical Dependency Specialization : Hold a current valid LCDC license or be a qualified credentialed counselor.Four years full-time work experience working with chemically dependent clients.For the At-Risk Youth Specialization : Four years full-time work experience with at-risk youth.For the Social Work Courses : Four years full-time work experience in the social work field.For Community Health Worker Instructor : Hold a Community Health Worker Certification or be eligible to receive certification within one year of hire.LCDC required for this position.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated subject matter expertise to include competence in all basic areas of counseling and human services, and / or social work.Assist in recruiting prospective students, market and promote programs, and establish program criteria.Maintain knowledge of rules and regulations of the fields, licenses, and credentials for the programs.Hold a current Counseling License and have privilege to practice in the state of Texas : LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC in addition to LCDC.Demonstrated written and oral communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with the students, faculty, and administrative personnel while adhering to HIPAA and FERPA.Proficient with current Microsoft Office software package, to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task.Be flexible in delivery method and time of instruction, classroom, lecture, lab, and alternative methods including demonstrated ability to use current technology.Other Information Submit background check and other information as required.
