Key Responsibilities:
This role involves overseeing break bulk operations on the designated section of the terminal dock, which includes loading, managing forklift traffic, and ensuring proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
The successful candidate will manage up to 30 LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule, utilizing their independent judgment to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
In addition to these responsibilities, the ideal candidate will ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers, monitor dock production to meet and exceed facility Key Performance Indicator goals, and ensure company operational model compliance.
Requirements:
We seek candidates with experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operations, who possess a thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
Prior management, dispatch, and dock experience, preferably in the LTL trucking industry, is required. The ideal candidate must be able to work any shift, including nights and weekends, in any weather condition.
A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
