What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver position at Central Tree & Landscape Mulch, LLC?
MAJOR OBJECTIVES:
Work under the direction of the Office Admin
- Efficiently operate assigned equipment while maintaining and exercising caution not to damage equipment, delivery site, or mulch yard
- Complete daily preventative maintenance checks on vehicles and equipment
- Complete all daily mulch deliveries
- Help consistently improve production while keeping a clean, high quality work standard.
- Assist with loading/unloading trucks/trailers/etc.
- Assist with setting up, loading, and cleaning the grinder and other mulching equipment in the yard
- Respect trucks/equipment by keeping clean from debris/garbage and operating smart.
- ALWAYS REPORTING MAINTENANCE/REPAIR NEEDS TO THE SHOP MANAGER & COMPANY PORTAL
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conducting preventative maintenance checks prior to using all vehicles and equipment
- Complete scheduled mulch deliveries on time with correct material and amount for the day
- Drive safely and efficiently; obeying all traffic laws
- Get mulch delivery tickets signed and collect payment before dumping
- Clean trucks in between deliveries to not mix products
- Fuel, grease, maintain vehicles, and input miles, fuel, and repairs into company system
- Maintain the mulch yard in an orderly, neat, clean, and safe manner
- Keep mulch piles turned, pushed up, and clean daily
- Keep dumping piles clean and organized (chip, mix, and log piles)
- Operate equipment to measure and load mulch into customer vehicles/trailers/etc.
REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- The ability to take and respond to directives issued by the Supervisor.
- Ability to identify problems and work in conjunction with others to implement effective solutions.
- Independent judgment -- targeted towards the development of creative solutions and the ability to solve spontaneous problems and/or issues that may arise.
- Can work effectively under pressure.
- Operate a large delivery vehicle to the safety standard
PREREQUISITES:
- Two (2) to five (5) years of truck driving / delivery experience
- This is a seasonal position with opportunity to move to a year round position.
- Ability to pass DOT and pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to work flexible hours and possible Saturdays and Sundays.
- Class B or C is REQUIRED
Seasonal work- Delivery driver would work during Spring/Summer (mulch season). some days could be 10 hours, while others could be less if there are no deliveries or if the weather is bad.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
