Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between customers and our service technicians, ensuring that all service requests are accurately documented and communicated. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to provide exceptional customer service while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Greet customers and assess their automotive service needs.
- Document customer concerns and vehicle issues accurately.
- Prepare detailed service estimates, including parts and labor costs.
- Communicate effectively with service technicians to relay customer information and ensure timely completion of services.
- Upsell additional services based on vehicle condition and maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
- Follow up with customers regarding completed services and satisfaction levels.
- Stay updated on automotive diagnostics, repair techniques, and industry trends.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in service writing or a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand air brake systems, shocks, struts, brake repair, and other automotive diagnostics.
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes and upselling techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
