Summary
The Quality Technician plays a key role in ensuring that manufactured products meet quality standards and meet customer expectations. This position is responsible for inspecting, testing, and analyzing products and processes to identify defects and areas for improvement. The Quality Technician works closely with production teams, engineers, and supervisors to maintain compliance with industry regulations and company quality policies.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet specifications.
- Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to assess product quality.
- Document and report findings, identifying defects and recommending corrective actions.
- Work with production teams to investigate and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct audits of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
- Assist in root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain accurate quality records and ensure proper documentation of test results.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and prevent defects.
- Ensure compliance with ISO and other regulatory requirements.
- Train production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in quality or manufacturing preferred.
- 2 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with measurement tools and testing equipment.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, standards (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, etc.), and process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with quality management software is a plus.
