What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian/Maintenance position at Central United Methodist Church?
1. Open and close buildings as scheduled for church events.
2. Switch on all interior building lights as needed.
3. Safely maintain cleanliness of all assigned areas of responsibility as well as all shared duties during scheduled hours.
4. Insure that all trash and debris is discarded in the appropriate dumpster by days end.
5. Set up/break down tables and chairs for scheduled events as needed.
6. Assist all staff members to insure that any and all needs are supplied for events such as Worship services, weddings, funerals, and any other
scheduled gathering.
7. Continuously monitor assigned work area for needed maintenance and report any repair or safety issues to the Facilities Manager.
8. Perform all assigned duties safely and in a timely manner.
9. Insure that all worship services are recorded via the sound system in the Sanctuary.
10. Maintain building security by arming all alarm systems and physically
checking all building exterior doors at the end of each day.
11. Required work time is 40 hours per week which may include weekdays, weekends, or holidays as needed. When necessary, overtime
compensation will equate to one and one-half times normal hourly rate.
12. Perform any additional duties related to ca retaking for Central property, as requested.
13. Be familiar with general Church and Personnel Policies as written in
employee handbook.'
