What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Grain Settlement Specialist - York, NE position at Central Valley Ag Cooperative?
PURPOSE
As a Senior Grain Settlement Specialist at Central Valley Ag, you will be responsible for the support of Grain Merchandisers and Originators. You will also be responsible for processing all inbound and outbound grain loads, properly applying them to customer/terminal accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processes all scale tickets/loads to be accounted for daily ensuring accurate recording of bushels, price, storage, taxes, etc.
- Issues payments for all grain sales while complying with applicable lienholder laws.
- Settles all loads in a timely manner in keeping within state regulations.
- Maintains good communications with grain personnel to ensure proper settlement of grain.
- Answers and services incoming customer calls and handles walk in customers where applicable.
- Interacts with internal and external customers regarding collections and payments.
- Amending & administering non-traditional contracts for grain specialists.
- Processing non-traditional contract settlements, balancing a non-traditional position vs various hedge accounts.
- Providing reporting & contract summaries where appropriate.
- Grain specialist administrative support as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Associate degree in Accounting/Finance or two to four years of related experience.
- Ability to multi-task several assignments simultaneously and establish job priorities.
- Employ fundamental accounting skills: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations.
- To consistently meet internal and external deadlines.
- Strong competencies in computer applications including Microsoft products.
- Manages a variety of responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
- Follows through with commitments and can be counted on to meet deadlines.
