What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Accounting Supervisor position at Central Valley Ag?
PURPOSE
The Regional Accounting Supervisor position is to support the initiatives of Central Valley Ag by leading the Regional Accounting Specialist team’s responsibilities assisting and reviewing agronomy inventory and billing transactions as well as training and assisting employees as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage routine inventory processes by leading inventory variance meetings, support team’s efforts reconciling variances, rolling inventory monthly, and assisting with communication on findings and resolutions to appropriate Operation, Agronomy, and Accounting leadership.
Assist and oversee Regional Accounting Specialists’ agronomy related responsibilities involving, yet not limited to, billing reviews, prepays, cash drawers, restricted use licenses, CFA programs, Merchant Ag testing, and fiscal year end processes by providing team routine reports, assist in the development of new reports as needed, and reviewing team’s progress completing their responsibilities.
Lead team’s efforts supporting CSS’s by answering CSS questions on new and existing processes and programs, providing CSS training utilizing LMS “Learning Management System” or other methods, analyzing and resolving customer complaints, and monitoring locational visits.
Work alongside Agronomy AP Specialists and Accounting teams to accurately set up new product codes and customer payment and prepaid terms.
Be a back up to the team performing Regional Accounting responsibilities for assigned region(s) as needed.
Maintain a strong working relationship with internal Operation and Agronomy leaders by frequently communicating team’s findings and initiatives.
Other duties as required.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 4 to 6 employees.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in conjunction with division heads. Focus on highly engaged workforce with great communication skills.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Associate degree in Accounting/Finance or two to four years of related experience.
Ability to multi-task several assignments simultaneously and establish job priorities.
Employ fundamental accounting skills: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations.
To consistently meet internal and external deadlines.
Strong competencies in computer applications including Microsoft products.
Must exhibit the ability to work in a collaborative and team environment.
Follows through with commitments and can be counted on to meet deadlines.
Always maintain a positive attitude.
Actively look for ways to help customers.
Completes work in a timely manner with a high level of accuracy.
