What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dentist position at Central Valley Indian Health, Inc.?
Central Valley Indian Health, Inc. (CVIH) is seeking a Dentist for the Tachi Medical Center in Lemoore. Full-time and part-time applicants will be considered. The Dentist is responsible for providing the highest quality of general dentistry services to patients of all ages. Along with quality care, special attention should be given to educational services on preventive dental and hygiene care. This is a “Safety Sensitive” position, responsible for HIPAA Compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Examination, diagnosis and treatment planning.
B. Endodontic therapy.
C. Restoration of carious teeth.
D. Fixed and removable prosthetics.
E. Oral surgery.
F. Immediate treatment of dental emergencies.
G. Prescribe medications when necessary.
H. Travel to satellite clinics when necessary.
I. Responsible for the day-to-day dental operations and oversee Dental Clinic operations in the absence of the Dental Director.
J. Communicate in a friendly and professional manner to others. Provide excellent service/support to all patients, employees, and other contacts.
K. Stay abreast of the latest developments and techniques in the dentistry field.
L. Accurately document all medications, diagnoses, treatments, and consultations.
M. Any other duties assigned to the employee by his or her direct supervisor or CVIH Administration.
1. Current CA license to practice dentistry from the Board of Dental Examiners.
2. Certificate of completion from an accredited dental school.
3. Current CPR and DEA certificates.
4. A valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record with the ability to be insured under CVIH’s automobile insurance.
5. An awareness and keen appreciation of Indian traditions, customs and socioeconomic needs. Ability at times to meet and deal effectively with Indian health organizations consisting of numerous tribes with varied cultures. Tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of sensitive nature.
6. “Safety Sensitive” positions are subject to random drug testing and are required as a condition of continued employment.

Full-time and Part-time schedules will considered within the days/hours of Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
