Description
The Pallet Jack Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently moving, loading, and unloading pallets within the production plant. The role requires operating pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to ensure smooth flow of materials and products in the production and warehouse areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks to transport materials and products to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping/receiving docks.
- Load and unload pallets from delivery trucks and storage areas in accordance with safety and operational guidelines.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation to ensure accurate record-keeping and minimize spoilage or loss.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while operating pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements, including logging times and quantities handled.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inventory status, equipment malfunctions, and production needs.
- Work closely with production staff and warehouse team to coordinate material flow and ensure timely availability of materials.
- Assist in other tasks as needed to support plant operations and achieve production goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating pallet jacks or similar material handling equipment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy loads (up to [weight limit, e.g., 90 lbs.]) and operate pallet jacks safely.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in a production or warehouse setting.
