Responsibilities
- Assesses and charts observations of patient’s condition for each visit
- Clinical duties, such as, changing bandages, tube feedings, shots and monitoring IV’s
- Reviews medications and vital signs
- Administers physician-prescribed medications
- Dresses or redresses wounds and assesses healing progress
- Educates patients and family members on proper home health care procedures and strategies
- Coordinates with physicians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists in patient care plan
Requirements
- Graduation from accredited school of nursing
- Registration as Registered Nurse
- Excellent clinical skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
- Ability to think and act swiftly during emergency situations
- Flexibility and patience to work in a variety of different living conditions and with diverse groups
