Responsibilities
- Perform clinical testing in blood bank, chemistry, serology, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, special chemistry and microbiology.
- Obtain or receive specimens adhering to chain of custody standards
- Perform laboratory testing according to established procedures
- Perform and evaluate quality control on a daily basis
- Perform preventative maintenance on instrumentation and interpret results as to accuracy
- Oversee MLT and Lab Assistants
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of Medical Technology
- ASCP Certification as Medical Technologist or equivalency
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and use good judgment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain flexibility and composure in a demanding environment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
