Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized Insurance Billing Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in dental insurance processing and a passion for helping families navigate the complexities of insurance coverage. This full-time position offers growth opportunities to advance to an Insurance Manager role as our practice continues to expand.
Hours & Compensation
- Hours: 32-40 hours per week
- Compensation: $23-30 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
- Location: Central Washington (multiple office locations)
Key Responsibilities
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients
- Submit clean claims to insurance companies in a timely manner
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims to ensure maximum reimbursement
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues
- Explain insurance benefits and financial responsibilities to patients and families
- Work with the front office team to ensure accurate insurance information collection
- Stay current with insurance policies, coding updates, and industry changes
- Generate and analyze insurance reports to identify trends and opportunities
- Assist with treatment plan estimates and financial arrangements
- Maintain organized, compliant documentation for all insurance-related matters
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure proper documentation for insurance requirements
- Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Skills
- 2 years of dental insurance billing experience (pediatric experience preferred)
- Knowledge of dental terminology, CDT codes, and insurance processing
- Experience with dental practice management software
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Self-motivated with exceptional organizational skills
- Patient and empathetic when working with families
