The Mortgage Loan Servicer under the direct supervision of the Director of Real Estate Lending, will provide operational and clerical support in all areas of real estate lending. This position is responsible for the servicing, review and archiving of real estate loan documents, processing and funding real estate loans and ensuring the completion of the Credit Union’s security interest in a timely manner. The position also communicates consistently with internal staff, members, third party vendor, realtors, and title companies by answering questions and providing technical and operation support regarding real estate loans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Loan Servicing & Funding (35%)
- Fund all home equity and real estate loans.
- Perform final quality review and loan file completion.
- Process escrow-related duties (past due escrow, property taxes, annual analysis).
- Handle mortgage, home equity, and Triad insurance documentation.
Loan Processing & Documentation (25%)
- Prepare home equity loan documents and files.
- Review rates, terms, and amounts for compliance.
- Ensure technical accuracy in documentation.
- Process mortgage payments through third-party vendors.
Member & Third-Party Communication (15%)
- Assist members, title companies, realtors, and third parties with loan-related inquiries.
- Provide servicing support to Mortgage Loan Originators and Home Equity Loan Officers throughout the process
Compliance & Reporting (15%)
- Maintain awareness of regulations, lending standards, and rate/fee schedules.
- Process annual 1098 reviews, 600 letters, and HMDA reporting.
- Maintain document compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports and monitor applicable expense GL and spreadsheets.
Market Awareness & Departmental Support (10%)
- Support Real Estate Department loan and referral goals.
- Stay alert to market conditions, products, and changes.
- Provide ongoing feedback to the Director of Real Estate Lending.
- Attend training and comply with CWCU policies and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to present a professional image to management, staff, and outside contacts.
- Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, customer service, communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in the English language.
- Typing and 10-key skills with emphasis on accuracy.
- Excellent planning skills, both short and long term planning, financial acumen and analytical skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent business experience.
- A minimum of one year mortgage servicing experience preferred.
- A basic understanding of real estate mortgage loan terminology.
