The Executive Director is a visionary and operational leader responsible for overseeing the
internal operations of the museum. This individual ensures the seamless functioning of daily
activities, fosters team development, manages the museum’s facilities, and strengthens
membership services. The Executive Director will play a key role in advancing organizational
efficiency and growth, ensuring alignment with the museum's mission and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight
Oversee day-to-day museum operations to ensure efficiency and excellence.
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
Collaborate with board and staff to create processes and ensure appropriate resource
allocation.
Staff & Volunteer Management
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate museum staff and volunteers.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional development,
and high performance.
Provide leadership and direction to ensure staff alignment with organizational goals.
Membership Management
Oversee membership services, ensuring a high-quality experience for all members.
Analyze membership trends and recommend innovative initiatives to expand
membership.
Oversee Community Outreach Coordinator efforts to develop and execute strategies to
attract, retain, and engage museum members.
Budgeting & Financial Management
Develop and manage the museum’s annual budget in collaboration with the Board of
Directors.
Monitor financial performance, ensuring the responsible allocation of resources.
Oversee financial reporting and ensure that grant writing and fundraising efforts align
with revenue needs.
Strategic Planning
Work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement long-term strategic goals.
Identify opportunities for growth and improvement in programming, operations, and
community engagement.
Lead initiatives that position the museum as a community hub.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Oversee safety protocols and facility maintenance to provide a secure environment for
visitors, staff, and volunteers.
Serve as the primary contact for emergency planning and response.
Qualifications
Strong organizational, financial, and strategic planning skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, with a commitment to fostering an
inclusive workplace.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Experience with membership programs, volunteer coordination, and community
engagement (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field
(preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of leadership or management experience (preferred).

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
