FULL JOB DESCRIPTION :

8.0 HOURS PER DAY

12-MONTH SUPPORT STAFF POSITION

Job Summary :

This position is that of an experienced technician who has a background and expertise in plumbing.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

Investigate, troubleshoot and correct issues that arise in specialized area.

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment related to area of specialization. Maintain assigned shop equipment and schedule repairs or calibration as required.

Keep assigned vehicle clean and schedule maintenance as necessary. Maintain tools and specialized equipment used for job assignments.

Read and interpret blueprints, design sketches, technical manuals, schematic layouts and other documentation as required.

Be able to work from ladders and high lifts.

Identify and correct problems in various systems, equipment, machinery, controls and appliances. Adjust devices in area of specialization for optimum performance and efficiency.

Be able to work nights, weekends and holidays to support needed district repairs. Must be able to respond to emergencies as they occur. Be part of the snow removal team for the district. Participate in departmental responsibilities to carry out district emergency policies.

Cross train for other positions to allow greatest department flexibility

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Specialized certification preferred.

4 to 6 years of related work experience in plumbing.

Must have and maintain a current driver's license.

Must have (or be willing to obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse & FBI Criminal History background checks from within the last 12 months.

Hourly Rate : 22.08-$26.48

Step placement shall be based on years of service recognized by employer.

Salary : $22 - $26
