Our new Cardiovascular Interventional suite suite offers the complete integration of leading-edge imaging and technology to diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular disease and other conditions using minimally invasive alternatives to surgical procedures. Our ‘Suite” team consists of expert Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Electrophysiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, Radiology technologists and Registered Nurses collaborating to provide innovative personalized care to our community.
- The Interim Coordinator position is a temporary position available for a period of up to 6 months.
- The duties of this interim position can be completed by one individual or split among several team members, depending on the skills and availability of the applicants.
- All interested applicants must receive approval from their current manager to temporarily vacate their existing role, ensuring a seamless transition.
Responsibilities
- Prepares room, equipment and materials needed for procedures, positioning aides for patient comfort and security and protective shield and apparel for staff safety.
- Prepares patients for procedure.
- Operates digital x-ray equipment, documents procedures utilizing Mac-lab, and archival of studies.
- Administers and coordinates technical activities involved in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of the catheterization equipment and maintains record of protocol.
- Provides patient/family education regarding pain.
- Coordinates evaluation and care of patient pre-procedure, intra-procedure and post-procedure including supervision of education and observation for untoward effects.
- Assists physicians in the insertion of catheters and patient monitoring.
- Supervises and provides assistance in emergency patient care.
- Responsible for department work schedule, delegation of assignments and proper staffing levels.
- Assists in personnel actions including performance appraisals, vacation scheduling and other duties as needed.
- Assists in policy development in accordance to JCAHO and DHSS standards.
- Compiles, analyzes and reports ongoing data required for state licensure of the Cath Lab as well as statistical and performance initiatives.
- Assists in determining fiscal requirements and monitors budgetary operational expenses, revenues and supply inventory.
- Collaborates with the Clinical Director of Cardiology Services to establish goals and objectives, and communicates goals and objectives to staff.
- Intervenes when appropriate to identify changes in priority or to address unanticipated problems.
- Assists in evaluating performance of prior years against established objectives and applies findings in planning for current year.
- Collaborates with Clinical Director in long-term departmental planning process, including forecasting for future needs for services.
- Updates departmental policy and procedure manuals, oversees implementation of all policies and procedures.
- Assists in facilitating the smooth and efficient operation of the Cardiology Department.
- Collaborates with Clinical Director to adjust staffing patterns and interpret policy and procedures, acting as a technical resource, assigning duties and responsibilities and resolving operational problems.
- Plans and facilitates unit based education to maintain and enhance the clinical competency of the staff.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Graduate from a school of Radiology or nursing with current state license, or bachelor's degree in biological science or related field preferred
- Three (3) years' management experience required or
- Three (3) years' Clinical Cardiology experience required or
- Three (3) years Invasive Radiology experience required
- Current cardiac catheterization experience required or an equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.
- ACLS Certification Required
- BLS Certification Required
