What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Aide position at Centre Care?
Centre Care -
- Sorts heavily soiled clothing and linens sent to laundry from nursing units;
- Fills linen carts;
- Folds and sorts residents' personal clothing;
- Maintains linen supply in Storage Room and Linen Closets;
- Completes routine counts and records them on appropriate forms;
- Loads and unloads washers and dryers (must be able to perform some heavy lifting, including 50’ bags of soiled linen); Wet wash from our washers is heavy.
- Irons sheets, tablecloths, etc. using commercial ironer;
- Operates small piece folder;
- Picks up soiled linen from resident floors and transports to the basement;
- Weighs and records soiled linen weights;
- Loads clean linen carts
- Marks clothing with name tags
- Cleans lint collectors and other machinery; cleans laundry carts.
- Handles deliveries of linens and 55 gal drums of chemicals
- Have ability to manage stress tolerance, pressure and anxiety
- Also be crossed trained in Housekeeping as a Housekeeping Aide as needed.
