What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver (Class C) position at Centre For Neuro Skills?
As a Transportation/Driver, you will provide patient transportation and follow state law requirements for driving. Work may be performed at the clinic, residential site, and in the community and includes a majority of time spent in vehicles. The vehicles include a bus with 3 steps and a wheelchair lift and Class C vans.

Job Tasks:
- Requires familiarity with and adherence to Department of Transportation and Texas Department of Public Safety (TX) program regulations and CNS policies and procedures for Class C Drivers including submission to drug screening upon request and maintaining of a safe driving record.
- Assures that company vehicles are kept in safe working condition. Conducts weekly vehicle safety inspections. Reports all vehicle repairs.
- Schedules and runs errands as needed while working within an overall schedule for patient's activities and weekday activities through the shift supervisor. Transports patients, families, insurance carriers, etc., as needed. Requires physical ability to operate a wheelchair lift and climb in and out of vehicle with 3 steps repeatedly.
- Supervises staff during transportation of patients to ensure safety.
Job Requirements:
- High school graduation or G.E.D. required. Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent driving record and Class C license required.
- Successful completion of Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT) as soon as practicable after hire.
- Successful completion of CPR and First Aid certification as soon as practicable after hire.
- Relevant experience is preferred.
- COVID vaccination with booster (if eligible) required.
