What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Assistant - Part Time position at Centre Volunteers in Medicine?
Job Summary
This position is a member of the clinical services team. Main areas of function are associated with data entry, medical records management, and patient eligibility.
Duties
Patient Eligibility
1. Review all online eligibility screening forms and delegate the forms as necessary
2. Complete eligibility appointments once a week or as needed
3. Create/update patient charts from Eligibility packets and enter into AdvancedMD, Med Services and Asprodental
4. Follow up on incomplete eligibilities
Medical Records
1. Completion of printing, copying, and mailing of record requests
2. Reviewing requests from other entities to ensure proper parameters have been defined
3. Assisting volunteer medical records clerks as needed
Skills
1. HS diploma required
2. At least one year of experience in a medical field required
3. Must have ability to work independently and as part of a team
4. Excellent communication skills required and the ability to interact with variety of personalities and backgrounds
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast pace environment
6. Ability to use or learn Microsoft Office and Google Chrome required - previous experience with an electronic health record preferred
No weekends, evenings/nights or holidays required
