In this role, you will:
- Develop FHIR/HL7-based APIs to enable interoperability between hospital EHR/EMR systems and third-party applications.
- Design and implement RESTful web services using JSON/XML formats for efficient healthcare data exchange.
- Work on integration projects to connect disparate healthcare IT systems, ensuring secure and compliant data transmission.
- Develop and maintain FHIR resources (e.g., Patient, Observation, Medication) to support healthcare application needs.
- Collaborate with technical architects, healthcare providers, and business stakeholders to understand integration requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare regulations in API development and data handling.
- Optimize Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) workflows through API-driven automation and data transformation.
- Debug, test, and troubleshoot healthcare APIs to ensure high performance, security, and reliability.
- Stay up to date with FHIR advancements, US healthcare regulations, and industry best practices.
- 5 years of experience in healthcare software development with a focus on FHIR, HL7 v2/v3, and CDA.
- Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR systems
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and web technologies.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript for API development.
- Experience working with healthcare interoperability standards and RCM workflows.
- Familiarity with OAuth2, SMART on FHIR, and healthcare authentication protocols.
- Solid understanding of SQL, NoSQL databases, and data modeling for healthcare applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
- Experience with cloud-based healthcare platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of FHIR servers and implementation guides.
- Certifications in HL7, FHIR, or healthcare IT standards.
- Background in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and API security best practices.
