Position: Drill Press Operator
Centric Pipe is seeking skilled and motivated Drill Press Operators to join our team at our Bossier City, LA facility. This position is responsible for operating drill press machines to drill precise holes in tubing and other materials to meet production goals and quality standards. We are hiring for 1st and 2nd shift positions, and candidates must be flexible to work all shifts as needed.
Position Overview
As a Drill Press Operator, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing process, ensuring the precise operation of drill presses, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining production goals in a safety-focused and fast-paced, parts-per-hour environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor drill press machines to drill holes in tubing according to specifications.
- Perform machine setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished products for quality and compliance with production standards.
- Maintain accurate production records, including parts-per-hour tracking and equipment performance logs.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address issues and improve operations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in manufacturing and machining environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a parts-per-hour production environment.
- Flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or other shifts as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Previous experience operating drill presses or similar equipment.
- Knowledge of machine setup and basic maintenance.
- Understanding of production metrics and quality assurance processes.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with a focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
- Requires standing for long periods and the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to noise, heat, and industrial equipment. PPE applies.
