The Finance Director is responsible for providing a range of financial support to the Centrica Business Solutions (CBS) North America business. The position is responsible for overseeing the accounting, controls, financial planning, business analysis and tax functions of the Finance Team. The role will engage with the regional business unit leaders and corporate services functional leads to drive growth and improve efficiency, as well as interfacing with the UK based Centrica Group Finance teams. This position will report to the Global Financial Controller of CBS Global, with a dotted line reporting into the Head of CBS North America.
This is an in-person/hybrid position based out of our Malta, NY office.

Our Finance Director contributes to the team by:
- Overseeing all financial accounting and reporting, including but not limited to the following functions: accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, fixed assets, corporate expense reimbursements and bank reconciliation.
- Managing the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks
- Ensuring adequate resourcing of Accounting/Finance team.
- Managing the team and process to deliver best in class monthly financial management insights, including P&L and Cash Flow performance, financial and non-financial KPIs, production of the monthly board packs and ad hoc analysis as required.
- Partnering with business unit leaders and other functional teams, utilizing tools to standardization modeling processes and challenging the business on their assumptions.
- Working with CBS Finance teams globally to provide local commercial finance support for new project investments and commercial contracts, with a particular focus on the level of financial return and a clear understanding of the risk/reward approach for projects.
- Developing and implementing financial strategies to drive growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability.
- Ensuring all tax obligations are fulfilled, (sales/use/income for CBS-NA) as well as manage relationships with tax service provider and taxing agencies.
- Managing treasury needs for CBS NA. Coordination with Centrica Group treasury for access to Bank accounts/portals, monthly balance reporting to UK, and manage cash funding needs.
- Ensuring all required business licenses are obtained and tax agency registrations completed as business expands into additional states.
The core components of success are (i.e. must haves):
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 10 years’ in finance position including several years in a finance leadership role
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles (GaaP and IFRS) , laws and best practices
- Experience with capital investment analysis, with an understanding of Net Present Value, Return on Investment, and Internal Rate of Return
- Demonstrated leadership ability, team management and interpersonal skills for dealing with cross-functional teams across the entire organization
- Excellent analytical and reasoning skills, problem-solving abilities, plus excellent organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence across different teams to lead change efforts
- Change-management, creative thinking and process improvement skills
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Quickbooks and PowerBI
- CPA or CFA qualified, or equivalent experience from business activity

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000-$130,000 bonus benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
